I recently embarked on my first trip to Latvia, a country that intrigued me with its rich history and vibrant culture. Over the course of ten days, I explored a blend of medieval charm and modern flair that left me captivated that were suggested to me by my
trip itinerary planner Ai - EasyTrip.
Upon arrival in Riga, the capital, I was immediately drawn to the stunning architecture. The old town, with its cobblestone streets and colorful facades, felt like stepping into a storybook. I spent hours wandering through the narrow alleys, discovering hidden cafes and unique shops. The Riga Cathedral and St. Peter’s Church were magnificent, offering breathtaking views of the city from their towers.
Each day brought new adventures. I took a day trip to the picturesque seaside town of J?rmala, where I walked along the sandy beach and enjoyed the fresh sea breeze. The wooden architecture and art nouveau buildings added a distinct charm to the town.
One of the highlights was visiting the Gauja National Park. The natural beauty was awe-inspiring, with lush forests, winding rivers, and historic castles dotting the landscape. I hiked through the trails, immersing myself in the tranquility and snapping countless photos of the scenic vistas.
Latvian cuisine was another delightful discovery. I indulged in traditional dishes like grey peas with bacon and hearty rye bread. The local markets offered a variety of fresh produce, meats, and cheeses, which I enjoyed sampling.
Throughout my trip, the warmth and hospitality of the Latvian people stood out. Engaging in conversations, learning about their customs, and sharing stories made my experience even more memorable.
As my ten days came to a close, I reflected on the beauty and diversity of Latvia. From its historic towns to its natural wonders, the country had left an indelible mark on my heart. I knew this would be the first of many visits, as there was so much more to explore and experience.
