Covent Garden
is a district in London on the eastern fringes of the West End, between St. Martin's Lane and Drury Lane. It is associated with the former fruit and vegetable market in the central square, now a popular shopping and tourist site, and the Royal Opera House, which is also known as (...) (from Wikipedia).
This old fruit market
is considered today to be one of the best areas for shopping and entertainment in the City. The area considered best is the Apple Market in the northern hall. The main specialty here is unique art and handcrafted works. On Mondays there's also a pretty good antique market. The place is also home to several theatres, as well as the Royal Opera House.
