The Tower of London
was erected back in the 11th century. It became famous mainly as a prison where important prisoners were held. Today, the crown jewels are displayed in the Tower. You can visit some of the old cells that served as a prison also during the First and Second World Wars.

It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England.
