Casa de Pilatos
Review
La Casa de Pilatos
(Pilate's House) is an Andalusian palace in Seville, Spain, which serves as the permanent residence of the Dukes of Medinaceli. The building is a mixture of Renaissance Italian and Mudéjar Spanish styles. It is considered the prototype of the Andalusian palace. (...) (from Wikipedia).
This impressive
palace is a 7-minute walk to the north east from the cathedral, at the northern end of the Barrio de Santa Cruz quarter. A web of alleys surrounds it, and the nearest main street is Calle de Aguilas.
The palace was built in the 16th century, and it presents a beautiful combination of Muslim and Christian building styles. The visit to the palace includes some large halls, where you can see ancient carriages and weaponry. Around the palace there are some large gardens with fountains.
The first floor of the palace is visited only in organized tours, but you can tour the ground floor and the gardens by yourself.
Address: Plaza Pilatos 1, Sevilla, Spain.
