So Peten and Tikal with the ruin sites are probably the #1 destination in Guatemala. But the bad thing is, is that it's so far! But we could then just stay one night in Izabal and then leave the next day and take another long bus ride to Peten. 

So instead we would stay Sunday night and leave Monday. We could also try taking a night bus so that way we wouldn't have to waste day light. But it would probably be a 5 hour bus ride from Izabal. Totally worth seeing! There are plane flights from Guatemala City but they are $235 which is way too much when a bus ticket is $60 but also then 9 hours....
