2 nights...Friday 28th June and Saturday 29th June.
Day 1
28th June, Friday...Explore Sienas medieval streets. Go to the Piazza Del Campo. Climb 400 steps in the Tower of Mangia to see a beautiful view of the city.
Day 2
29th June, Saturday...Visit nearby town Greve in Chianti (40kms north of Siena) and sample the regions superb wine and taste some local delicacies at the wine museum. They offer over 100 types of wine for tasting.
Piazza Matteotti with its particular shape and restaurants and shops is the main attraction.
Leave Greve and continuing along via Chiantigiana to Castellina in Chianti. It has Etruscan roots and always played an important role in the fights between Florence and Siena. The majestic Fortress and the massive walls prove this glorious past. Don't miss Via delle Volte, where you can admire a spectacular panorama. Also, along the ancient walls an impressive underground tunnel used by the guards back then remains, now called Via della Volte which today is a fascinating tunnel with shops and restaurants. Walk down the tunnel and admire the view of the surrounding Chianti countryside.
