The Nieuwe Kerk ('New Church') is a 15th-century church in
Amsterdam, located on Dam Square, next to the Royal Palace. (...)(From Wikipedia).
The church is called 'New', but it was actually built in the 15th century. It is relatively new when compared to another famous church in the city – Oudekerk – the Old Church. The church has impressive stained glass windows. This is where Holland's kings have been crowned since the 19th century. The most astonishing item in the church is a large pipe organ from the 17th century. In recent years, due to the small number of visitors, the church has been mainly used for housing art exhibits and as a concert hall.
Address: Dam Square.
